Blockchain Lab Open Day Registration Open

1st of December 2021

The Blockchain Lab at UiO is organizing an open day (physically at the Department of Informatics) and inviting participation of organizations and enterprises from the public and private sectors in Norway that are interested in the exploitation of blockchain technologies. The current event is primarily oriented towards representatives of the prominent infrastructure designers and use case owners in Norway. While the talks can be of interest to the students and academic researchers interested in blockchain, the Lab will have additional events in the future that are more focused on their audience.

The goals of the open day are:

  • To share the vision and mission of the Lab (which emphasizes blockchain support for public services and infrastructures),
  • To present our research and innovation ambitions as well as the areas strategic for the Lab,
  • To organize breakout sessions on topics of potential interest to the participants. The goal of the breakout sessions is to establish strategic areas having a critical mass, wherein the partners will have complementary expertise.

By the end of the open day, we hope to identify future Lab partners and consortium members for topical Lab initiatives. We further hope to collect feedback regarding specific collaboration and catalyzation mechanisms within the Lab.

The program on the 1st of December, 2021 is as follows. Please note that the program is only tentative; small updates are still being made.

Individual point-to-point discussions

Please note that our focus in the discussions is not on how to build a use case (design and solutions) and not on sharing technical details behind those solutions. Instead, our focus is on finding complementary expertise for the purpose of partnership, on the concrete ways to utilize blockchain technologies in different contexts, and on the catalyst mechanisms the Blockchain Lab will be using.

Please register if you plan to attend the open day. While the talks and breakout sessions will be open to the public, participation in the individual point-to-point discussions will only be possible for registered and pre-approved participants! If multiple people from the same organization attend, a separate registration is required for each.

You are welcome to contact us at bclab-openday@ifi.uio.no, if you have any questions or inquiries about the open day.
